In this Systematic Review Dr. Per Kristian Hyldmo and colleagues look at the question of whether an unconscious patient lying supine is at risk for airway compromise. Spoiler alert – the answer is yes. Their conclusion is that the research supports the use of the lateral trauma position on unconscious trauma patients.
